Robert Foglesong is stationed at the Pentagon and is assigned to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as the assistant to the chairman. He is a fighter pilot. Foglesong's job requires daily interface with the State Department and the White House on issues that involve national security.

He graduated with honors from West Virginia University and received a doctorate in chemical engineering before entering the Air Force. He was a member of many academic, professional, and leadership honorariums, including Tau Beta Pi, Omega Chi Epsilon, Phi Lambda Upsilon and Mountain.

Professionally, Foglesong graduated from National War College and was selected as the chief of staff of the Air Force chair. In addition to flying fighters, he had assignments in research and development, aircraft maintenance and long range planning. He has been a commander four times. He has published 37 articles on scientific and professional topics.
