Nick was raised in Wellsburg, WV, growing up in a family of WVU alumni. He attended West Virginia University for his undergraduate degree, B.S. Chemical Engineering 2000. During his time in Morgantown, Nick was a member of the WVU Student Chapter of the AIChE, Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and was elected by the student body to the Board of Governors. Nick is a founding member of the Mountaineer Maniacs. Following his time at WVU, Nick attended the University of Notre Dame, M.S. Chemical Engineering 2003, where his research focused on catalyst optimization in 2-phase flow packed bed operations.

Upon completion of his master’s thesis, Nick began his career at the Department of Energy’s Nuclear Security Enterprise in Aiken, SC and Oakridge, TN. He spent 11 years in technical support, project startup, emergency response, and operations management roles maintaining the US Nuclear Weapons stockpile, providing nuclear fuel to the Navy and supporting the US nonproliferation efforts around the globe.

In 2013, Nick and his family moved to Charleston, WV where he took a position managing a chemical production unit at the DuPont Belle Site. Over the next ten years, he managed every production unit at the plant through a variety of different roles. He worked through the spinoff from DuPont to Chemours and was promoted to Plant Manager in 2022.

Throughout his career, Nick has always strived to give back to the community. He is active in volunteering, serving on non-profit boards, coaching youth sports, tutoring, and mentoring technical professionals.

Nick is married to his wife Susan who has a B.S. in Marketing from WVU. They have two daughters, Julia and Giana.
