Larry J. Lilly, son of Joe D. and Jessee F. (Brown) Lilly, was born and raised in Ravencliff. He is a 1960 graduate of Glen Rogers High School, where he was class valedictorian.
He graduated with high honors from WVU in June 1964 with a BSChE. Lilly served as chief engineer on the senior design project. He was active in campus activities and was a member and speaker of the Student Legislature. He held membership in Tau Beta Pi, Omega Chi Epsilon, Phi Lambda Upsilon, Sigma Tau Sigma, Mountain, Sphinx, Order of the Grail and Helvetia.
Lilly attended MIT and received his MSChE in September 1965. He joined Tennessee Eastman, a division of Eastman Kodak Company, Kingsport, Tennessee. He served in a variety of engineering, manufacturing, administrative and environmental jobs of increasing responsibility. He was named assistant superintendent, polymers division, in 1975 and assistant superintendent, organic chemicals division, in 1977. In 1979, he was named superintendent, manufacturing, Arkansas Eastman, Batesville, Arkansas. At the present time, he is serving as manager, new business and development, Arkansas Eastman Division, Eastman Chemical Company.
Lilly is a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, where he has served as senior high teacher and Sunday school superintendent. He is currently serving as an adult Sunday school teacher and church business meeting moderator. He has also served as a member and chairman of the Batesville Utilities Commission. He is a company representative to the Batesville Chamber of Commerce. He is currently on the board of directors of the chamber and serves as chairman of the chamber transportation committee. He is a registered Professional Engineer and is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and Sigma Xi.
Lilly is married to the former Dottie Worrell of Oceana, and they are the parents of three children: Doreen, Bruce and Sharon.
