Anesa Chaibi was born and raised in Weirton, WV.She graduated from WVU with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1989 and was president of the student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineering her senior year.
Chaibi began her career with General Electric in the Chemical and Materials Leadership Program at GE Silicones in Waterford, New York. She held positions at GE Plastics in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and Washington, WV. Upon completion of her development training program, she became an advanced productivity engineer with GE Plastics in Selkirk, New York. Chaibi then became an operations manager at GE Silicones and led a plant start-up. She then took on a cross-functional role as global sourcing manager for GE Plastics in 1994.
In 1997, Chaibi obtained her master’s of business administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Upon graduation, she became a strategic management consultant with CSC Index. Two years later, she joined GE Corporate in Fairfield, Connecticut, as manager of corporate initiatives. Her next role was general manager, advanced power systems at GE Digital Energy, a division of GE Power and Industrial Systems. She then became the general manager of global sourcing for GE Infrastructure and then general manager of global quality and commercial operations at GE Water and Process Technologies.
Chaibi left GE to join The Home Depot in 2005 as president of Home Depot Supply in San Diego, California. In 2007, she became president and chief executive officer of HD Supply Facilities Maintenance once the business was divested. She has grown the business from $840 million in revenue to $2.5 billion through 2014.
Anesa lives in San Diego, California with her husband and son.
